LaCroix's Company started as a group of members of the Friends of the River Raisin Battlefield (FRRB), who put this company together under the leadership of Ralph Naveaux. It began as a way to preserve the history of the town of Monroe Michigan and to bring attention to the battlefield it'self. It has since grown into a group that has traveled to re-enactment events to bring the history of the militia units in the south eastern Michigan area during the early 1800's, abroad.

While we still strive to support local happenings in the town of Monroe, we are currently looking to expand our membership to those who with to take a more active role in the re-enacting side of our company. Most of the events we currently support are located in Michigan, Ohio and Indianna. While attendance is never mandatory, we are looking for members who are active enough to attend as many events as possible with us so that we can field a full Company compliment on the field of battle.
Within LaCroix's Company, we have two featured items. One is a video put together called "War of 1812: Battles of the Raisin", which tells the story of the largest field battle in Michigan. The other is a book by our unit commander, Ralph Naveaux, called "Surrounded on all Sides" which covers a very, in-depth look at the battle of the River Raisin.
Update on the Tippecanoe Commemoration...
It is confirmed that there will be no battle re enactment at this event. However, there will be morning and evening parade, as well as demonstrations and a march from Prophet's Town to the battlefield.
